Hello everyone,

I have a bit of a dilemma and I'm just looking for some general advice. I'm interested in moving to Jeju with my Korean wife (she has family there). Anyway, the dilemma is regarding landing a job.

International schools: I'm currently preparing applications for several international schools in Jeju, but they are highly competitive. My qualifications seem on par for this kind of job (master's in education, US teaching certificate, 3 years US teaching experience, ESL teaching experience in Korea), but given how competitive they are, there is no guarantee.

Public schools: This seemed like a good backup plan, but given how you can't choose your location with EPIK I'm worried this is not a viable option.

Hagwon: I would prefer not to. I feel I'm overqualified for this and I have had my own bad experience with a hagwon. However, perhaps this would be good to do for the first year while I locate better employment?

I'm just curious what people here might suggest or advise. Given my F-6 visa it could also be possible to move to Jeju first (stay with family) and then try to locate a job whilst there. Not sure. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Hakwons go local and look. International Schools, no advantage.
