Does anyone have experience with freelance contracts and protection of labor law? When dispute arises w the employer and employer decides to with-hold payment, what is the best procedure to get protection?

I raised a petition with Labor Board and they accepted my case but later said that technically being under freelance contract is civil case and dismissed the case.

I wouldn’t recommend it. In case there is dispute, you will not be protected by the labor law... which means you may have to undergo lengthy civil pursuits if you had to fight for worked hours or money entitled. Do not sign contracts easily, read and re-read
