Trump's continued racist anti-immigrant attacks have served to encourage white nationalist domestic terrorism. Gun rights proponents argue that military-style attack weapons are needed in the hands of civilians to protect against government tyranny, but now there's a real tyrant with autocratic tendencies in the White House, and heavily armed white nationalist militias strongly support - and are supported by him, and individual mass killers - whether "mentally sick" or not - are inspired and encouraged by his hateful words and deeds against people of color - especially poor immigrants but even former President Obama was subjected to his "birtherism" attacks...

For the mass murder in Texas, there was a "good guy with a (concealed carry) gun" who happens to be in the military, yet he was unable to stop the killer.

Authorities claim no evidence of "racial motive" in Dayton mass killing although early on it was reported that (white) killer's sister - who was among those shot and killed - was there with some black friends. Later reports don't include that for some reason. It's fortunate that police responded so quickly - reportedly 32 seconds - to minimize the carnage ... https://time.com/5643405/what-to-know-shooting-dayton-ohio/
