Riding the bus today I noticed that there's a Papa John's being built near Seohyun station (past Seohyun, and on the otther side of the main road, actually). I've never had a Papa John's pizza myself, but I think I remember some people mentioning here that it's pretty good.
Is it?

There's one right down the street from my by Daechi sagori (intersection, my transliteration spelling is awful), and yes it is pretty much the best pizza you're going to get in Korea. |

Their sauce for the pizza is really good. Perhaps that is why Dominos stopped giving cheese and started giving sauce a few months ago.

PAPA JOHNS! The best franchised pizza! I used to get it all the time when I was in the East Coast. In the West Coast, there are only a few of them and for some reason they are NOT as good as ones in the East Coast. And it'll be in Bundang! Alright!
I wonder if there are also any oven-baked thin crust pizzas in Korea.... Does anyone know?

I've had them a few places here, but I don't think there are many that deliver. A good Italian place should have them though. |

Papa John's at Seohyun...I'm not actually a big fan of the franchise, but that would definitely be better than anything pizza-wise that I've had in Korea thus far. Sweet. |

As far as national American pizza chains go, I think they're the best.
I used to work for Domino's, and we'd compare notes with employees at Papa John's, and we all came to the conclusion that the way Papa John's makes their sauce and ensures freshness in ingredients is superior to Domino's squeeze-and-add-water sauce and canned veggies.
It would be great to get pepperocinis again with my pizza instead of sweet pickle chips! |

Yeah, if you check out http://www.papajohns.com/locator/international.htm#, it will list all the places in Korea. There's one about 2 min. walk from the Apkujung station in Seoul that I've gone past several times and would have gotten a pizza if it wasn't "delivery only."
I really like Papa John's--great pizza and at a good price. Many late college nights were accompanied by pizza, peppers and their dipping sauce. Mmmmm |

Papa John's is good stuff... I ordered it quite a bit when I was back in the states last year. Replaced PIzza Hut as our favorite local pizza.

I LOVE Papa John's. My best friend & I used to eat it all the time in college. They'd always have these deals where you'd get like 2 large pizzas for 12 bucks. So cheap and sooo gooey.
I saw one in Seocho area about a month ago when I was riding in my Korean friend's car. I yelled so loud I startled her and we almost got in an accident. Oops. Unfortunately they didn't have any in my area and I never felt the need to go all the way to Seocho for pizza.
Now I'm just waiting for them to open up down here in Gwangju... |

do you think it really taste the same as back home? i tried it twice and both times felt it wasn't worth the money. just doesn't taste the same. i'm sure they make it the same way but remeber.....it is korean ingredients. i think i'll settle for half price with my new york special mr. pizza. |
