What is Bundang like to live in? I wanted a position in Seoul but I keep coming across positions in Bundang, which apparently is only 20-30 minutes out of Seoul. What sort of size is it? Last year I was in Ulsan on the South coast, so I was looking forward to the 'big city' thing.

Bundang is great, in my opinion. I'd much rather be there than where I am, that's for sure. It's an upscale area to the south of Seoul. All western goods are readily accessible and it's a short bus/subway ride to Seoul. It's nice because while it has all the amenities of Seoul, it doesn't haven't the crowds (Samsung Plaza excluded). Recommended.

Agreed. I have only visited Bundang a few times but it looked like a good place to be. I'd live there if I had a good job there. Then again I do like Seoul, but Bundang is still basically Seoul, 30 minutes or less on the subway.

Yes, Bundang is quite a large satellite city of Seoul.

It has very many western restaurants and department stores with western products.

I'm not sure about night life but there are quite a few activities one can do.

There is a Seoul subway line that connects to Bundang and is quite convenient.

Good luck!

Well, it ain't Shinchon, but I'd rather live in Bundang and visit Shinchon than vice versa.

Bundang was voted best city to live in Korea!!
its a new city, about 10 years old, it is modern, no dirty street, polluttion etc... great department stores, parks, big roads, cinemas, restaurants, FRESH AIR!!! subway, buses, all that, modern facilities, its considered the rich mans suburb, its expensive for housing!.. because its such a great place... 20minutes by bus to kangnam..
not too mention a lot of hakwons, schools...
It was real good for privates back in 97-2000 I mean its still ok now, but back then it was AWESOME!! because there were only like 9 hakwons
like there are 70 just around central Bundang!! not including ORI!
so, now most kids just attend schools...
still its a great place for privates, just got to get out there.,
cometake a look first!

Hey ItaewonGuy!

Thanks for the reply on my other message. I'm just wondering if anyone has lived in Bundang and another city as well. I do appreciate the info about Emart. I loved it when I was there. My husband and I will be coming so I'm just wondering what we can expect to pay for utilities and transportation. It may be the same in all the big cities but I'm not sure. If you or anyone has any other info.... send it on over...

Thanks....

eamo is the guy you want. he is out there now.

erm, i did some privates out there (naughty naughty!) and it seemed like a good area to me. i think it is quite an affluent area and like someone said it doesn't have the crowds and is only a short hop to gangnam.
