Any Americans out there doing privates?
How do you operate with the 30-day visa stipulation? Flights to Japan every month? Student Visa? What's the trick?
I'd love to avoid having to fly out to Japan once a month if at all possible, but I'm not above doing it. Do they give you crap at immigration if they keep on seeing 30-day stamps in your passport?
Let me know what your experiences have been.

Bud, there are about a million threads out there about privates. Hit the search option and scan through. Few people here want to openly talk about working on tourist visas...loose lips sink ships and all. |

I stay in Korea for more than 30 days at a time, but I am NOT doing privates. I have a C-3. I can stay in Korea for 90 days at a time. |

You can find private jobs that will sponsor a visa. Not easy to find, but it's possible.
That's how you do it.
I am one of the blessed 6 month guys. |

Another option would be a student visa. You only have to be enrolled in one class at an accredited uni to get a student visa that's good for 6 months. Take a class or two at a university in Seoul, in Korean or maybe one of the grad programs in English, and you should be able to get the visa. The only other catch is that you'd need to prove to Immigration that you have at least 3 million in the bank, or you'll need a visa sponsor.
The only other option I can think of would be the 3 month C3 visa. You never know how many of those you can get, though, before Immigration gets suspicious and refuses to issue another one. |

They are good for five years...do you mean how many entries on one before Immigration gets suspicious? |
