Is there anyway to get American cable channels in Korea. I would love to watch ESPN, HBO, E, and othe American cable channels. Doesn't AFKN have several cable channels -sports, movies, etc.??? Any info is appreciated.

I have sky life satellite. I would go round the twist without it. I watch Survivor and Cold feet every night(sad I know) And am totally addicted to Animal Planet. Being a Brit I get to watch Premiership Football every Saturday night on MBC(espn) and the usual plethora of american sitcoms(Ally McBeal, etc) I think sky life will grow in time.

SkyLife is pretty good and it is relatively inexpensive. I get all the stations plus arond 20 different music channels for around W18,000 per month. A pretty good deal. Love those old Kids in the Hall (the only clever thing out of Canaduh).

Stalinsdad,

How much does Skylife cost?

I've thought many times about satellite TV, but haven't done anything about it yet. but then again I'm paying for cable that I rarely watch. I can only stomach so much CNN and Arirang in one week, and there's no AFKN in my city.

Firmly round the twist,

Brian

It cost me 88,000 W for the decoder and about 20,000 a month. It may be cheaper now. I have cable but rarely watch it.

I have skylife and it runs about 27,000 won a month. About 100,000 for the set up.

I have all the channels except the "naughty channels". They recently discontinued HBO for something that is almost just like it including "Sex in the city" but alas no Sopranos.

None of the menu is in English so sometimes you have to play hit and miss. I do like TCM because I love old movies. CNN World is nice too. Lots of stuff on the nature channels and NG. It is easy to use and it is nice to have movies 24/7 but all the channels carry Korean movies part of the day too. Which is fun cuz sometimes the cheese factor in the old movies is priceless.

They have the History Channel but again all dubbed in Korean. Dammit I hate that because I love the History Channel.

Channels that show Kids in the Hall...YIPPPEEEE! And some that show really scary bad "B" and "C" movies.....incredibly mind numbing but sometimes like a train wreck you can't help yourself.

Recently sat through "20 Century Foxes". On one of those really cold days. Should I seek help?

Have fun!
Edina
