Has America become this hated?

Quote:

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Russian village was left baffled Thursday after its lake disappeared overnight.

NTV television showed pictures of a giant muddy hole bathed in summer sun, while fishermen from the village of Bolotnikovo looked on disconsolately.

"It is very dangerous. If a person had been in this disaster, he would have had almost no chance of survival. The trees flew downwards, under the ground," said Dmitry Zaitsev, a local Emergencies Ministry official interviewed by the channel.

Officials in Nizhegorodskaya region, on the Volga river east of Moscow, said water in the lake might have been sucked down into an underground water-course or cave system, but some villagers had more sinister explanations.

"I am thinking, well, America has finally got to us," said one old woman, as she sat on the ground outside her house.

You do realise you are referring to a woman raised under decades of Soviet indoctrination, don't you? Why are you so surprised she hates or perhaps at least fears America?

Umm.... yeah. Rolling Eyes

The old lady shows that you don't have to have a mental retardation condition to say stupid things.

It's not that she has been indoctrinated for so long. It's the illogical, primitive caveman-like explanation she tries to conclude.

Why would America spend hundreds of millions of dollars in a covert operation to secretly build a stealth-capable driller able to enter and leave a country without a trace, drill a hole under a little village's lake in Russia?

People who are as retarded like that to even imagine such a thing would be possible should have their sexual organs removed to prevent them from breeding.

What?

I suppose you are one of those Albertans who routinely castrated and or
sterilized the mentally handicapped in your province, were you?

I hope you weren't serious with your comment. Sure, what she said was stupid. So what?

Did anyone die because of her stupidity? Did anyone have to go to war because of the stupid things she said?

I can think of someone far more deserving of your style of "punishment" for saying stupid things.

But then again, speaking as one who has said some utterly idiotic things myself, does the punishment fit the crime?

I think we all have said some stupid things now and again, does that mean we all should have our "nuts cut off"?

What the article clearly shows is just how greatly the Russians fear the US right now, and judging by previous actions of the current administration, perhaps that fear is not entirely unwarranted.

Sorry if this seems a bit over the top. It just seemed a bit too ironic for me. Confused

An old Russian woman believing that America stole her lake is no more illogical than western people who believe in:

* Religion.
* Alternative medicine.
* Supernatural events.
* Psychic powers.

You can't critisize the old woman for thinking nonsense - unless YOU yourself reject the unscientific cultural practices in society.

Or socialism as a viable form of government for that matter.
