Hey everyone,

If you read the US press release, the troops aren't leaving Korea, they're leaving Seoul. It is a strategic move (read the press release). They want to put the US troops out of the artillery zone as much as possible. Right now most US troops are in Seoul or between it and the DMZ. If the US moves troops south, the North will have more trouble, if not infinite trouble, in hitting them with its masses of (outdated) artillery. Thus it is actually MORE of a deterent.

Watch, if this goes through the North is actually going to get more belligerent because they are going to see one of their threats to the US, that they can destroy most of the US forces in a artillery barrage, go away.
