I'm not yet dead nor in a position where I'd be better off dead.
Of course, that could change at any time.
How's that for inspiration?
Well, if that's no good, there's always Jack Handy:
The memories of my family outings are still a source of strength to me. I remember we'd all pile into the car - I forget what kind it was - and drive and drive. I'm not sure where we'd go, but I think there were some trees there. The smell of something was strong in the air as we played whatever sport we played. I remember a bigger, older guy we called "Dad." We'd eat some stuff, or not, and then I think we went home. I guess some things never leave you. |

Come on, we got it good. I'm not in a hospital somewhere with a bunch of tubes in my body. I'm not fighting in a war. I'm not in prison. I'm not the target of a Holocaust. My parents are still alive. I don't come from a poor, corrupt country. I have food in the fridge. I have the freedom to do almost anything I want.
You can be doing a lot worse than teaching in Korea. |

Hmm...what's good?
Well, I have a loving family, and good friends. A great boyfriend. I am going home for a bit in the summer to see people and places, and will travel to great places upon returning to Korea. I've got an easy job, and I am saving piles of cash.
That's about all right now. |

I'm immune to lung cancer from pack a day cigarette smoking. A man I met on a street corner told me that. |

I'm healthier than I have been the last four months.
And I swim three days a week, which makes me feel great.
I love my job.
I have plans for the future.
I have two great lifelong friends and am close to my father still.
I have hope I'll meet the right woman someday. |

Compared to the majority of people in the world, my life is terrific.
Three years ago I lost my business, and all of my assets along with it. Now I have a good job, money in the bank, and I get to travel a lot. My family is doing the best it has in years.
The best, at this very moment, is that my 87 year old dad is strong and healthy and has just gotten his first PC and is sending me emails!
Yeah, life is pretty good.
Thanks for reminding me to think about it. |

As the lovely Kasey Chambers (Aussie country chick singer) sings, "We're all gonna die some day, yeah, we're all gonna die some day, Jamie got stoned 'cause she couldn't get boned, we're all gonna die some day".
Not sure about ("aboot" for the canucks) the not getting boned part but the rest is pretty inspirational.....
something to look forward to... (no more ddong chims, yay!) |

I'm immersed in doing theatre-related pursuits right now, and that makes me happy.
yay theatre!
And I'm about ready to set off on the road, about three or four months driving across Canada.
yay travelling!
and I can say 'annyeonhaseyo' to random Koreans that I meet across this country, surprising them that a random Canadian can speak their language (if only a little!)
yay languages!
and my cat avatar doesn't seem to be working, but that's ok.
yay glitches! |

I love this job. It's hair-raising but so what. Of course I also hate it. But if you chill out and take stock and do something productive with a positive attitude then it's all good. First comes the positive attitude aka fooling yourself.
Kids smile or laugh 400 times a day. Adults; 15.
I'd like to sign up for paragliding; there's a club twenty minutes drive away.
Thrashing around being dissatisfied is natural I think. Sign one has to bust out. |

I saved up quite a bit of money where I don't have to work right now. I haven't worked in over a month and don't plan to work in Korea till I go back home (in August).
It's a lot of fun to have Koreans offering me hagwon jobs left and right, pleading with me, and I just get to say "sorry, I'm not in the mood to work!"
All I do is exercise, study for grad school in coffee shops, watch movies, post on Daves, and turn down teaching jobs that people are asking me to take.
Am I lazy? You might think so, but this will be one of the few times in my life that I can do this!!!!!!
**Oh, and my wedding ceremony is coming up in late July.

Above average intelligence, above average creativity. I'm calm. I'm nice. I have little stress in my life. I have a good family I can fall back on. I have good friends. Coworkers generally like me. I've generally had fulfilling, nurturing romantic relationships with attractive women. |
