Ever since this episode has started appearing on the news shows, I've been thinking what a great idea it is to show the psychos of the world how easy it is to get close enough to celebrities to squirt them in the face with acid. |

I never quite liked Tom Cruise. Something about him. If a movie had Cruise in the title, I was less likely to ever see it .
That said,... I was amazed at how well he handled the squirt in the face.
He handled it perfectly. How could one do it any better! He asked the guy why he did it. Kept him on the spot and waited for an answer. Later on saying "Admit it, you're a jerk." All quite understated, polite, almost matter of fact.
Could he have handled it any better? I can't imagine how.
The best acting of his career! |

this kind of lame "prank" hasn't been funny for years. I hated that entire "Trigger Happy TV" thing as well, someone acting in a really obnoxious manner + people getting annoyed != comedy. |

Right.
The master of the celebrity ambush, Dennis Pennis, gave it up years ago despite getting huge ratings for it. |

at least Dennis Pennis put some thought into it- asking Demi Moore
"If it was absolutely necessary to the plot and the money was right, would you conside leaving your clothes on for a movie?" |

To Tony Curtis;
"Hey Tony! I make a living out of embarrassing celebrities! In your case...I won't bother!!

I can't count the number of times I've wanted to grab a Korean student and have the same conversation Tom Cruise did with that reporter. Daily basis, really. |
