When going to Cambodia, it's cheaper to fly to BKK and then book a ticket there.

When flying out of Korea, I have off and on for years used Mr Choi at Time Machine. 778-1887 His staff aren't so good, he's great though. Make sure you prompt him about other possible routes and airlines, but he'll do well by you.

Whooa there partner, settle down.

Don't know the numbers off the top of my head, but pick up a copy of any English language newspaper (Herald, Times, etc.) or check out their websites and you'll find the numbers for a dozen different travel agencies that deal with waegukin.

Though ... good luck with trying to find tickets for next week, you are probably SOL. Sorry, but true.

friend told me about a korean site www.whypaymore.co.kr Its in Korean but man the prices were cheap. Saigon for under 600k peak season.

I've been using Ms. Oh at Unique for years but next trip I'm going to shop around some more. 900K r/t to Siem Reap is high and I don't get the FF miles since its on Vietnam airlines

Um...the www.whypaymore.co.kr link doesn't work...

Yeah, prices are crazy. Japanese and Koreans both seem to get screwed if they travel in the summer months- prices are marked up pretty badly (though I have also paid ridiculous prices trying to travel in the U.S. and Canada). The cheapest flight I could find for Tokyo was 450.000 (before taxes) and that was through Xanadu (every travel agent quoted me the same price). It's only a two hour flight! But EVERYONE goes to Japan for summer vacation, I guess...

I'll be eating a lot of ramyon and rice for a while to try to recoup that airfare..luckily I'm staying with a friend in Japan so will save money that way...

No kidding. If you want to go anywhere in peak season make your plans well in advance or be prepared to sell a kidney.
