Be Kind to Your Web Footed Friends
Written By: Unknown
Copyright Unknown

Be kind to your web-footed friends,
For a duck may be somebody's mother,
Be kind to your friends in the swamp
Where the weather is always damp,
You may think that this is the end.
Well, it is!

I remember hearing this when I was a kid because my dad would watch Sing Along With Mitch (Miller) every, I think Saturday.

Enjoy.

BE KIND
Be kind to our web-footed friends
For a duck may be somebody's mother
Be kind to our friends in the swamp
Where the weather is very very damp (pro. dahmp)
You may think that this is the end WELL IT IS! (shouted)

That's the way I learned it anyway.

Here's another fun camp song:

(Sung to the tune of Glory, Glory Hallelujah--'Battle Hymn of the Republic')

I wear my pink pajamas in the summer when it's hot
And I wear my flannel nightie in the winter when it's not
But sometimes in the springtime
And sometimes in the fall
I jump between the covers with nothing on at all!

Glory, Glory Hallelujah!
Glory, Glory What's it to ya?!
Balmy Breezes Blowin' through ya
With nothing on at all!

I've decided to rewrite most of the song after the opening verse, since Idon't relish explaining what a swamp is to a bunch of city-bound K kids (closest thing they'd understand isprobably rice paddy, but somehow it doesn't compute)

And Thanks to Kangnam for the music links.... GS/BS always have good songs forkids... I'd even forgotten about BINGO, which is a real goodie for little kids, though lord knows I heard it enough when my girls were in GS. Wink

Canuckophile, there are recordings of "Be kind to your web-footed friends". I know it's pushing time, but if you like, message me and I will send an mp3 to you. (Relax, it's sixty years ago and legal).
