I need some advice URGENTLY!

I have 2 offers of a job in Korea.

Working for 'english friends' institute in Ilsan (il-san?) - a new satellite city nr. seoul

or to go EWHA Institute in Incheon.

I have read indifferent reports about English friends but are there more than one branch and can anyone advise me on where to go please.

I am in the UK and my friend is near seoul so i am not sure if it would take too much time to see him etc.

whats the better place..................... is Ilsan new, green but inconvenient for travel etc.?

I really need to decide now! :(

thanks,

J.

Don't think it would make much of a difference. Ilsan is newer and a quick bus or train ride to Seoul (depends on where you are, but if it takes more than 45 minutes to get to downtown Seoul, I'd be surprised). Good places to shop for food and whatnot.

Inchon has a little more character (read: dilapidation and garbage) but it's not all like that. The train to downtown Seoul should take less than around 45 minutes as well. Shopping not nearly as good.

The schools themselves is a much more important consideration, and I have no idea about either of them. However, indifference in a report about a hagwon is good thing -- at least you know it isn't really bad.

Do you know if this EHWA in Incheon is the one in Gyeyang-Gu? If so I think I can help you I know someone who works there. A position has also recently opened there. I'll bet it's the one.

The neighborhood is pretty good for Incheon. It's on the Incheon subway and there's a Samhwa express bus station, so there's fairly easy access to Seoul (45 mins by bus, one to 1-1/2 hours by subway). It has decent shopping and Western foods with a Grand Mart, Carrefour, and a Wal-Mart. There's a mountain to hike, a public pool (a rarity in Korea), two Vietnamese restaurants, and a nightlife district. The neighborhood isn't that much to look at, and the pollution is at least as bad as Seoul, but you could do a lot worse.

However, I've heard nothing good about the school. Saturday classes, disorganized and difficult management. Two months out of the year have "intensive" courses, which mean very long days for you. Sorry I can't give you more detail, this is all second hand.
