i inherited an acoustic guitar from a friend of mine who left the country. i can't play and haven't been motivated to learn. i was content to leave it where it is in the house, purely decorative. but one of my neighbors offered me 50,000 won for it. i suspect that he was attempting to lowball me a bit, as he immediately raised his offer to 100,000 won when i didn't seem the least bit interested. i'm still not too terribly interested in getting rid of it. it looks nice where it is, and there's the off chance that me or the wife might one day get the urge to learn to play.

anyway. it's a 12-string fender, manufactured in korea. i don't know thing one about guitars, so i can't offer up much more information than that. if i were interested in selling it, what should i expect to get for it?

thanks.

Just doing a quick search on the net, the guitar you have appears to range from $300-$600 US dollars, brand new, depending on the model.

Until we know the model, we don't really have a clue of its value. What is the Model number? Also, what is the Serial number? It'll give you an idea of its age. I would bet that it's likely worth more than $100.

Cheers!

the number on the guitar i'm guessing to be the model number is DG-18-12. the serial number is 90689846.

i don't know how old it is, but from what i know about the guy who i got it from, and the time he spent in korea, i'd say 'not very'.

Here's some info about your Fender:

Fender acoustic guitars, imported from Korea, China and Indonesia.

DG18-12-NAT
1996 -1998
$269.00
Spruce top Mahogany back and sides

Judging from the Serial number, I would guess August 1996. Sounds like it's a pretty good guitar.
