Take exit number 5 (pretty sure that's the number) at sinyongsan station. Walk staight out the exit and eventually you will get to a tunnel. At the end of the tunnel there are a couple of guys standing right near a poster on the wall. Say Englishie XP SP2. He will leave and come back with a copy. Don't pay more than 20.000 won, but you should be able to get it for 10 or 15k.

This is a 100% serious reply.

You can ger a legit version at Youngsan. Just go to a software store and ask if they have a DSP; it's what the stores buy to install in the computers that are then sold with XP already installed.
Better yet, on the 4th floor of the computer market, across the bridge from Youngsan station, is a software store that sells them at 190K, and a computer store for 180K.
Greg Kim, the owner of the store speaks English.

You can also get an OEM version, which is usually the cheapest

But now you have to register your copy within a month, etc., or it locks up, right? And these days, only one computer is allowed to be registered.

Or is there some kind of work-around now?

Just ask Itaewonguy about what happened to him.

This is a corporate edition I believe, in other words you do not need to activate it.
