I just bought a used computer. I still think I got a good deal but there are a few glitches. I downloaded some Frasier and a movie. When I tried to watch it in Winamp it was perfect except it was upside down! Can anyone tell me why this happened and/or how I can fix it? Turning the monitor upside down has already been suggested. Thanks.

This happened to me once when I bought a very, very cheap monitor. One fix is to reinstall Media Player. Another is to go to Microsoft's site and do a text search for 'upside-down'. I remember that I found a little service aid report on this, which instructed me to change a line of text for media player in the registry.

Codec problem, probably.

Get the codec pack from doa2.host.sk, install, try again.

Or use a better media player - I like n.player (google it, if you're interested).

Thanks. I'm having problems with all my media players. Tancred, that's why I'm using Winamp to watch a movie. Real One and Windows Media Player play the movie right side up, but there's no sound. Winamp is the only one with sound, but like I said - it's upside down. Thanks for the replies, I'll try everything.

Divx is a crappy hack of Mpeg-4, although it's steadily getting better. It's used to encode and compress many of the movies you can d/load on various p2p services.

It's also a codec, and one of the ones in the codec pack I mentioned above.
