I've just been fired from a uni position. Now they're telling me I need to get out of my digs. I heard that it's law that I can have one month accomodation after the firing date. Is that true? |

I haven't heard that, but does it say anything about 4 weeks notice (or otherwise) in your contract?
(My university declined to pick up my contract, but I have my apartment until September, even though I'm not working, since that's when the contract ends. Were you fired, or just non-renewed?)
Anyway, sorry to hear it, and good luck.

Actually they said they will call it a resignation because it would be better for me, kind of sensitive I thought. Aside from the fact that they cited totally picky small reasons that would not have got a uni teacher fired in any other country i know of, plus they were all things that other teachers had done, or were doing. Basically nsomeone there doesn't like me.
In my resignation letter I stated that i would resign at the end of the first half year, in other words i would not return for the fall semester. I'm hoping that means they pay me for August which is holiday time. |
