I've noticed that on some threads when I exit a pop-up appears, and it is only on threads with certain users. Any idea how this is happening? something in the signature?
It happened to me on page 9 of this thread. anyone else noticing this? |

Got Milk? Because you probably have some spyware on your pc. Often it's due to cookies. My advice: click "tools" then "internet options" and choose "delete cookies" followed by "delete files" (including off line content) and lastly choose to delete your history.
Also, download and install a copy of Zone Alarm (it's free). It's a very nice firewall.

KK - I think USA could be on to something. No such pop-ups appear here or on my office machine, or at PC bangs... Something's not quite right with your computer(s). |

Yeah I've had several pop-ups occuring over the past two days while I've been browsing these forums...tho' I can't associate it with certain threads or users. That's not to say that an association doesn't exist just that I haven't noticed.
P.S. they're advertising sex sites.
(why did sex become underlined in this post?) |

Sounds like you have some form of scumware installed in your computer. Here is a brief description of it scumware, spyware, and parasite ware.
I recommend you go to Lavasoft Software and download and install their most excellent program Adaware. Adaware will hunt out and destroy all of these parasitic programs in your computer.
This recommendation goes out to everyone. If you haven't already done this I suggest you run this program. You will be surprised at what it finds lurking in your registry keys. |

i would recommend that program too.
i downloaded adaware a week or so ago after reading another thread, it found 198 of these ad things which i deleted, i now get between 5 and 20 new ones a day so i run it daily. i'm going to pay for the upgrade when i buy my own computer in a couple of weeks.
is the upgrade worth it?
