Now and then you hear about some minor film festival in Seoul which showcases Korean movies specifically for foreigners (i.e. subtitles)

You could just buy a 150,000 DVD player! All the english subtitles you want!

Or buy a DVD drive for your computer its even cheaper. There is some place near the American embassy. I can't remember the name, but hopefully someone else does and will post - they have a web site, that is all I can remember.

I just wanna say, after having watched about a million episodes of anime on a computer, that it's annoying as hell to watch something on a computer screen.

Tiger Beer-Of course you know about the DVD rooms, right? It's like a mini-theatre, all to yourself. Some are nicer than others, so just find a good one and clean out their movie supply.

I took the home DVD route, nothing like sticking a movie in the player and having some grub while I watch.

Or:

Buy a dvd drive for your computer and a tv-out video card. Then you can watch dvds on your tv and downloaded movies, tv programs etc.

The Seoul Selection bookshop near Gwanghwamun shows Korean movies with English subtitles at a nearby Art Gallery every weekend for a small fee (5000 won I think)

Their website is here: http://www.seoulselection.com
