Best one I've seen for English music is the large one at Gangnam subway station.

Can't tell you what exit its at exactly, but its down there with all the other shops. I found it to have a better selection of english music than alot of HMV's in Canada have.

This is Saynara Records, and it's beside Exit 5 at the subway station.
There's also an above-ground shop at Gangnam pretty much beside Jump Milano which is bigger than the subway store. I think there's also a Saynara at Myeong-Dong too.

The new Kyobo bookstore has a Hot Tracks in the basement which is not too bad. There's another Hot Tracks at the Kyobo in Gwanghwamun.

Musicland (?) is on Jongro opposite Tapgol Park, it's really big and has a great selection of stuff. Also in Jongro/Jonggak there's a reasonably-sized CD section in the basement of Yongpoong bookstore.

At the COEX there's a large CD shop called Evian Records. It's next-door to Bandi & Luni's bookshop.

Out of all the stores above, Saynara records is possibly the cheapest of the lot and it's the most convenient for me so if I'm in a CD-buying mood then I'd go there.
Otherwise I'd do what applepie says Wink

Purple Records in Hongdae (face the main gate of the university, turn left, 50-100 metres past the coffee bean.)

City Beat Records (on the alley next to the park directly across from the main gate of the university) has some decent stuff too.

There are quite a few record shops in the area - some speciality, some selling used CDs. Walk around and you'll find them.

Apparently lots of eclectic stuff and good prices (I'm musically challenged so I don't know, but I've been told), are to be found in the small store in Chongak subway station near the exit that goes to YongPoong.

I walked into a small CD shop in a small city in Japan and I found 10 times the selection that I do here.

On the otherhand, CDs in Japan tend to be in the 2500 to 3000 yen range. (Roughly 25,000 to 30,000 won)
