Anyone got any information on SED, as me and a couple of friends are currently employed at two of their camps - and worried by any more shite arising! Cheers!

Last year a girlfriend worked for them and it was nothing but hassles. They weren't paying teachers at all, if they did it was always three weeks late and their employees had to jump up ad down about it everyday. From what I understand it's a very B.S.-laden company to work for.

Do a search on this site and you will come up with enough info . It was enough to send me running when they offered me a job, that said I guess it all depends on how you deal with things.

Unless you want to stress over whether you are going to get paid, have to constantly hassle them for your money and basically drive you crazy, then this is the company to work for.
Everyone I know (including myself) hates this company as they are soo corrupt.
Don't work for them!

In Response To: SED, based in Seoul. anybody know anything? <http://www.eslcafe.com/korea/index.cgi?noframes;read=132710159047> (curious.)
SED is to be avoided at all costs. There have serious financial issues: late payment of wages, non-payment of wages, money owed to ex-teachers, lies, corruption, the list goes on. This is one organization that needs to be blacklisted.
I know a number of individuals who worked for SED and hate them with a passion. Avoid these people at all costs. Email: [email protected]

I'd think twice about working for SED. From what you said they are offering you, it sounds like you are a Korean teacher. Between September 2002 and Januray 2003, they paid the foreign teachers late and many of the Korean teachers didn't get paid for months on end.
Also, call the pension office and see what sort of record SED has when it comes to submitting pensions. You'll find it isn't so great. They owe the pension office (on my behalf) over one million won.

The best advice on dealing with SED is to run far, far away and never look back. They took over the management of my Uni's LEC early this year and they've been nothing but a headache.

There's been a lot of bashing about this school. I currently work for one of their franchises and haven't had any problem.

It must be a franchise-to-franchise thing.

I've been working 3 months at my school and have received everything that is promised. I've even been payed on time, correctly, and in full!

I may even take our Uni position this November.
