Hello
Looking into flying to Vancouver in early April. Does any one out there have any good travel agents to reccommend. We live in Seoul and we see bunches of them in the paper every day.The ones I used before bent me over on the price of the fare...Does any one here know the name of a good travel agent (preferably one that speaks English)....
Any advice on this would really be appreciated
Cheers

before you call any travel agent...call the airlines and find out their prices...often, travel agents will quote a higher price!! on top of that, travel agents will tell you the flight is booked when it is not...
a travel agent that gives you a good deal one day may not have the best deal going the next...just works that way...you simply must shop around... |

For some reason, if you go to Air Canada's website and try to buy direct, the prices are 3x higher.
There's logic for you. |

Go directly to the airline. Air Canada has an office in Seoul. I have yet to find a competent travel agent in this country.
Good Luck

I 2nd the STA travel branch in the YMCA building. The YMCA building area has numerous travel agents. If you don't like one price quote, just go to the adjacent travel agency. |

Why's that? I didn't have any problem with them the one time I used them. |

When I use a travel agent in Korea I use
Apple Travel - it's in the USO office's at Camp Kim outside exit 10 of Samgakgi Station (Line 6). It is in the USO office, before you need to show ID to enter the Army Base (Camp Kim) ... services are free
http://www.uso.org/korea shows their phone number |

snufalufagus,
What ID must I show? Do I need to be in the army or to be a US citizen? I thought that was necessary to enter Camp Kim |

The email is [email protected] or [email protected] they are really efficient and extremely helpful. Give them an email, and ask them for the number- I'd say they speak pretty English . |

Absolutely do not use Zenith travel as others have said. Sometimes their prices are the lowest but they are UNRELIABLE. After having paid 2 months in advance I was told, a few weeks before departure, that the flight was booked and I'd have to change the time - impossible as I had a connecting flight. Eventually it all worked out in the end, but definitely not worth the stress just to save 100,000.
In my book, if you've paid, everything is GUARANTEED - no questions. Zenith does not share this belief. They sell first and verify later. |
