I would like to find a good, English speaking gynaecologist in Seoul. Or even a good female doctor. If you have been to a good female doctor here, could you let me know where they are located and how I can make an appointment. Thanks.
This thread will move to the FAQ section----Mod Team |

I asked the same question last October and got some good answers. They appear to have gone missing though.

Yeah. I looked in the FAQ section and tried a search before I posted. I couldn't find anything. |

Dr. Sung's Obstetrics and Gynecology
2 floor, Hyundai Building
Hannam-dong
Yongsan-Gu
Seoul 140-210
This is right on the corner of 5-dae-ro (oh-dae-ro) and from Itaewon, it's about a 2-3,000 won taxi ride. It's very close to Hannam market.
The nearest subway stop is Hannam, but it will take you 15-20 minutes to walk there, at least. It's on the dark blue line, line number 1. The taxi's the best way to go, in my opinion. The Hyundai building is pretty obvious, right on the corner, and there's a Seattle's Best coffee on the first floor.
Telephone: 02-790-0802~3
She's a good doctor, new, professional, and clean office. You don't have to worry about questionable service. Everyone can speak English, including her. She has a lot of info printed up, and she'll make sure you understand everything before you leave. She has lots of foreign patients, so she's used to treating wae-gooks.
If you have a question, feel free to pm me.

I'm not sure how expensive she is...it's only 6,000 for the doctor's fee. A ultrasound is about 60,000. That's all I can remember for prices. |

I went to visit Dr Sung today.
Very clean, modern facilities.
I am very satisfied. Both Dr Sung and her staff were excellent. Everyone speaks English.
The cost of the consultation was 6,000 and an ultrasonagram was 80,000.
Highly recommended |

Bumping the thread!
Does anyone know if you need to make an appointment or if you can just show up?
Also, does the National Health Insurance plan cover anything??
Thanks in advance! |

I visted Dr. Sung numerous times. She's wonderful, though lately there's been another doctor there (female, I forgot her name)- perhaps Dr. Sung is on vacation? I prefer Dr. Sung. I always schedule an appointment, but I've arrived really late at times, and they don't care at all. So they're flexible. |

I want to add my recommendation for Dr. Sung as well. She and her staff were very friendly and helpful. They were careful to provide me with lots of information in English as well. I was able to call and make an appointment for the very next day.
Maybe I have a particularly poor sense of direction, but I wasn't able to find the clinic based on the directions in an earlier post (although maybe the clinic has moved since 2004?). Here's how I got there: from Gagnam you take the 420 bus north of the river and get off at the first stop after the bridge. Continue walking in the same direction the bus was travelling. There is an intersection about 20 feet from the bus stop and the clinic is on your right hand side on the third floor of that builidng above the Korean Exchange Bank. |
