Yes, but it pretty much revolves around a one-way airfare and a reduced working wage. Plus you pretty much have to already be in Korea to get one. |

I would dissagree. A buddy of mine searched in vain for literally months for a 6 month contract with no luck at all. It's pretty well impossible, since Immigration will only issue a 1 year E-2 Visa for a 1 year contract. Unless Gord can prove otherwise.

I have a friend who worked for a YBM ECC school on a six month contract. Forget the exact location... south western Seoul. They were nice to her for the first 4 months and kept pressing her about staying... she finally declined to stay on their nice treatment quickly disappeared |

I once did a 6-month contract. But it was in a public school where the other teachers did runners during the first semester. I negotiated a 1/2 severance pay and got it.
I have had several friends at various locations do 6-month contracts with no problems. It is possible, though not standard. |

I once had an offer of a 4 month contract, but I had trouble getting it legalized with immigration. They refused to issue a work visa for me, and afterwards the school wanted me to work illegally. I ended up walking away.
I know short contracts are possible, but they are usually not advertised. They are usually arranged directly with a school. About short term E2 visas, I don't know if those are possible or not, but one would think so since various people have been able to secure short term contracts.

If you don't object to moving countries to teach China is full of six month teaching contracts, however, the pay is not as good as it is in Korea. |
