what's this obessions with korean people (99% male) and sucking their teeth? very annoying. tooth pick anyone? or does the teeth sucking have other meanings?

Yeah, the sucking sound.... Always thought there is a large dose of annoyance mixed into the expresion. Like "F***, what do I do" or "F*** a foreigner interfering in my pure race life"

yeah, what is that? latter of weatherman's guesses i figure. yesterday in a tight doorway after the guy sees me approaching. all the better to chaw you with, said the big bad wolf.

It is one the grossest things in Korea, including the spitting. It grots me intensely when some old man sits down in the train, and starts doin it.

yeah, it grots me entirely too!

i was thinking something, perhaps, more sinister than the explanations given so far. for example, i remember reading somewhere that someone (probably derreck!) whenever he walked past korean people (of course, always men) they made an 'sssssssss' noise. apparently this is the opening to an insult towards foreigners in korean.

is the sucking teeth also something along these lines coz i swear they only start doing it whenever i walk past or sit near them on a subway!
