You could just check with the tourist info guys when you get out of immigration in Japan. Really it's one of the most straightforward runs you could ever do. Get off the plane, get on a train, get off the train, walk straight down a road for 10 minutes. More or less English speakers every step of the way.

I'm amazed so many people are able to mess it up.... Rolling Eyes

Don't forget your blue certificate.....

There is a bit if you take the underground that can mess you up a bit. There's a big pillar that blocks your view of the stairs returning to the train station. If you pass on the wrong side, you miss the stairs completely and you're off shopping.

Not to mention that I've never had a clerk at the Kansai airport station understand the word: "LA PI DO" when spoken by foreigners and he just shows off the prices. Of course, folks pick the cheap ticket for the slow train and get to the embassy about 30 minutes later than they normally would.

I got Japanese trains all figured out now... You just need to read kanji or be lucky enough to be in a larger city where the signs have english.

Actually it's not that difficult.
But if you're really in doubt WB you could always follow the 30 other foreigners who are headed in a tight little pack together. They all seem to find their way...eventually. Wink
Oh yeah but definitely watch out for the concrete pillars - they can be a real killer.... Laughing
