Anti-North Protesters Want Apologies

Anti-Pyongyang activists kept up their demands Thursday, and called the violence inflicted on them by the North Korean journalists on Sunday "a clear act of terrorism."

A civic group, the Anti-Nuclear, Anti-Kim Jong-il National Rally, urged the culture minister and the chief of the Daegu Universiade organizing committee to withdraw the apologies they have made to North Korea and apologize to the people instead.

Members of the right-wing group pointed out that even when a South Korean activist and a German doctor were roughed up during the fight Sunday, the Universiade's organizing committee and the government were busy appeasing the North Koreans who perpetrated the assault. "Which country does the Roh Moo-hyun administration belong to?" the activists asked.

And they ought to get one. They were assaulted while conducting a lawful and peaceful demonstration, a right guaranteed them under the Korean constitution. Of course they're unlikely to get one from any high ranking Korean politician since it is impossible to apologize when one's lips are permanently stuck to Dear Leader's behind.
