Ha ha...I just learned that one this year, and will never look at salsa the same way again. Ewww.... Laughing
A friend of mine was in her class teaching kids how to make enchiladas or nachos, (I think) and she said to the class, "And then you put salsa on it," amd her kids got so grossed out. LOL They told her why, she told me, and now, I can't look at salsa the same way ever again!

The word, "bun," no doubt comes from the French "pain" as well, Squid. I am glad someone finally said it.

However, little mixed girl had a point. The word for bread is similar in all of the Romance languages and the influence would likely be Portuguese over here, rather than French, as the Portuguese were earlier imperialists and explorers.

Byongsin - This means cripple. A very rude insult in Korean.
Gahji - Bad romanisation. This means beggar.
ddang gahji - This goes further to mean street beggar.
