What happens if someone (say, my girlfriend) overstays her one-month tourist visa by one day? Will they pull out her fingernails at Incheon International when we attempt to leave?

It happened to my boyfriend and he just got a slap on the wrist. They said because it was his first time and it was only one day they'd overlook it. However, he might have just been lucky.
