Hey All,

I have been sick for a week now with a very bad cold/flu type thing. One of my fluent coworkers went to the pharmacy with me, explained my symptoms and asked for a daytime and nighttime cold remedy. I was given ibuprofen (600mg!!!!) and sleeping pills. Rolling Eyes Does anyone know of an effective, non-prescription, Korean cold medicine that I could ask for by name?

Also wondering if aspirin (acetecylic acid is the chemical name, I think) is available here and how I would ask for that? It is the best fever remedy I know.

Thanks.

I have not yet found a cold cold medicine in Korea. I have tried a couple, but they just put me to sleep.
I found Excedrin at E-Mart...it has asprin and the stuff from Tylenol in it and it killed my headache/fever pretty good.

After a big night out I take a tablet called Gayberin(something close to that) and it is pretty good. It seems to have a little more power than Tylenol but it is a pink tablet. Failing that I recommend that you eat lots of Kimchi. If it cures SARS I'm sure it can cure a little flu Very Happy

In addition to Contac, you can get Haben. There is an ostrich on the box. It used to have methylephedrine in it, but I don't know if they took this drug off the market as they did in the US. Worked for me, if what you're looking for is a decongestant.
