I had a job offer in Incheon,sent all my documents,and my employer took them to immigration. They wouldn't accept my degree because it is wriiten in Latin. That same degree has been accepted in Korea FOUR times,before ! In Kyeonggi-do,Kangwon-do,and Chunchongnam-do.

They want my degree written in English. The " Latin " degree is the "original" they ask for. If I can somehow furnish them with the degree in English,it won't be the original.

Right now,I am stunned;can't quite believe this revolting turn of events.

Anybody else hear of such a thing and do you have any suggestions ?

Guess I'll have to make a visit to Universitatis Sanctae Maria in Halifaxiensis,this morning. ARRGGHHHH !!

did you mean to put universitas in the genitive case? think it over.

I got my visa just 3 weeks ago, my degree is in Latin and I had no trouble.

Me thinks immigration needs a slap! The beaurocrats get those blinders on and wham!!! any little thing they're not familiar with and DENIAL. I would be ultra pissed with immigration.
I hope you get it worked out.

Went to the uni today and presented my case to the registrar. He promised me a degree,in English, by tomorrow. He was so amused, he said there would be no charge.

When I get it , I have to e-mail it to Korea. How weird is that ?!

Only in Korea. Pity !

But, if you e-mail it doesn't that mean they won't have the original degree per se?
Or are they holding onto the degree in Latin till you send them the one in English?
