How did this thread end up over here in Siberia? Mosquitoes seem decidedly "off-topic" to me. |
We agree. Threads that we consider to be especially helpful references get moved here, and an item is added to the FAQ index. Yesterday we compiled and added several mosquito-related threads to the FAQ list. Moggie aid is a common subject on the board.
We'll be continuing to add current and archived threads from "job discussion" and "general" to here in the near future. Waterbaby says that most of the FAQ indexes haven't been added to since last summer, so there's lots of room for additions.

Mosquitos at home - Small, dumb, easy to swat
Mosquitos in Vietnam - Small, dumb, swarm over foreigners (Not joking)
Mosquitos in Korea - Big, but smart.
One would occassionally get into my room. I couldn't stand the buzzing no more, I would turn on the light. I swear that thing would just sit on the wall until I would turn off the light and lay back down. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. This would happen until I went slowly over the wallpaper until I killed it. Then I slept. Until eventually another one would come. |

It has to be very cold for a prolonged period in order for the mosquito population to be affected. Unfortunately, it rarely gets cold enough in Korea and whenever it is cold enough, it is never prolonged. |
