For some reason, I am unable to add an avatar to my account.
Every time I try, I get a message: "The URL of the remote avatar is not valid."
Yet I am able to use the EXACT SAME URL to add avatars to other accounts I have on other message board websites--so I suspect it's this site and not the hosting site or address.
What am I doing wrong? Is there a minimum number of posts one has to make before gaining avatar privileges? Am I simply not cool enough to qualify for an account with an avatar? Do I need to wrap the URL in brackets (such as [/url]) so as to comply with phpBB code?
Any help would be appreciated, as it's not like I can PM anyone yet.
Thanks! |

testing
I used a photobucket.com account, and it previewed in my Profile before I tried the test post here. 96x96px 4.14 KB must be a good size. There are probably exact size restrictions posted in a Guideline somewhere but I can't be arsed to look. |

Some forums have avatars, some don't. The ones that do have a more chuckles-in-the-frathouse atmosphere, especially because that is the effect a lot of people look for when choosing an avatar. The ones that don't tend towards more serious discussion. People focus on names and words instead of pictures. There is no random porn or semi-porn popping up. Idiots may become bored and leave. These things are good, because this forum is a quite well-known, and an important tool for many people working in Korea, but it presently gives people working in Korea a bad name among the ESL community at large and also with our over sensitive hosts, who do have a tendency to view us as low class idiots at the best of times. |

The avatar control panel becomes available after you reach 100 posts. |

Can you show me an example of a forum without avatars? I can honestly say I have yet to see one. |
