That's funny.
Guess we're gonna miss them....
Tomorrow is our school's foundation day so we won't be there... |

Immigration doesn't have that kind of manpower. One day? All schools? Not going to happen. |

Immigration couldn't even cover one city in one day.
so this is a 'surprise' inspection, yet your bosses know it's coming.
If I was your boss I'd tell my illegal teachers to stay home tomorrow. |

We gave our info in the summer. Nothing has happened. They probably saw all the papers and just said "must be good!" |

I got called out of class today and asked why my university didn't reply to their half-assed Konglishy letter requesting information on my degree (no doubt implying that there's something fishy about my qualifications).
I told them that my country has privacy laws and the school won't just hand out a person's private details to some random clown on the internet.
They said, "Well, the government has asked us to re-verify your degree." I said, "So, you want me to give you the information that you already have again?" They said, "Yes, everyone has to do it, even Koreans, and we need it by tomorrow"... this after the Konglishy letter that was sent 6 weeks ago got no response.
Sheesh. The funny thing is I don't even need a degree since I'm on an F-2.
Sometimes I despair of this place... |

I'm the same way, f-2 visa so I told them I have the f-2 if they want to bug me about this I can find a new job in 15 minutes. They then went to the office and looked at the photo copy of the degree I gave them and they said sorry. |

Ah, but you do need a degree to legally teach at a school or hagwon. You just don't need it for your VISA.

One of the Konglishey teach-uhs just told me that he does not believe that most foreign teachers are university graduates. He also said that many Canadians are child molesters. He even demanded that I show him the web sites of the places where I did my undergrad and grad work.
One of the other Korean English teachers claimed that this guy used to harass the last foreign English teacher until the instructor finally had enough of it and resigned.
I told the guy off in a polite way and asked him to stop insulting me. Really, he did not bugger off until I remembered what I'taewon Guy would have told the *beep* about The Republic of Corruption and their reputation for fraud in all areas of life.
