While I was vacationing and visiting an Army friend in Korea this past summer, one thing that shocked me was how reckless Koreans drive in their roads; very little regard for safety, whether other vehicles or pedestrians.

In the states, I drive a little two-seater, sports car and autocross for hobby; I guess to get my mind off the classroom stress. I was mortified at these Koreans who I saw driving like some scenes from "Mad Max" the Road Warrior movies.

As much as I enjoy owning and driving a sports car, there's no way I could drive one in Korea knowing that it will get abused by these crazy drivers.

The civility is one thing I would like see in the roads of Korea.

I would make the people generally more chilled, outgoing, and happy. How, I don't know.

Functional washrooms. Running water, a steady supply of soap, etc.

In fairness, many toilets in the west also fall far short of my pristine standards.

If I were ever elected president of Korea, or mayor of any Korean city, the first thing I would do is order a massive overhauling of the sewer system so that the toilets could accept toilet paper.

The second thing I would do would be to shut down the entire bus system and order that all bus drivers be retrained in "drive to arrive" courses a la AFKN.

The third thing I would do would be to institute the death penalty for all Koreans who spit indoors in public places.

The fourth thing I would do is lower trade barriers for hard apple cider from every nation, and have it put in vending machines along with soju, beer, and san-sa-chon.

OK, it's more than one, but once I become elected as Supreme Leader I won't have to choose just one thing to change, now would I?

To the chagrine of a lot of you here, I think Korea would be much better off if they bury the hellhole of a place called Itaewon.

I would make spitting a crime.

2 years imprisonment.

If the spit came directly after a suckin of snot into their mouth, it would be punishable by 5 years.

If the sound was over 10 decibles, 10 years.

Oh yes. Carrying of more than one shopping bag would be illegal.

It's tough to pick just one thing (and I've only been here 3 weeks!), but I think I would build a device that inflicts severe pain for those who don't let passengers get off the subway before they get on.
Maybe there would be some kind of electric shock fence that stays down until everyone has exited the subway.

I�d wish that Korea understood its place in the world and hat all of the dangerous, fascist jingoism and Nazi eugenic xenophobia would melt away and then the country would improve 100000000000000000000000000000% and the peninsula � and the world � would be a slightly better place.
