Hey,

Another one of those annoying posts:

What are your opinions of Ulsan?

Its quality of life? Public transit? Pubs? Expat scene?

Ulsan Web is a great source of basic info, but Id like to hear from folks in the peanut gallery.

Opinions are appreciated!

Cheers,

Joe

I lived there for over a year. It sucks. It has the worst air in the country because of all the chemical factories. Nature is non-existent and the "beaches" are ugly and dirty. I really hated that boring city.

ULsan isn't that bad, but it lacks the excitement of either seoul or Busan. Cheaper to live here though.
It is highly polluted.

Sounds no different than all of Taiwan. What else can you tell me? I'm game, eyes are open, lay it on me, bro.

Cheers,

Joe

OK about Ulsan: there is a tight connection amongst foreigners there that is not available in any other city. That is not bad, but personally I came here to get away from my people. I lived everywhere in Korea and by far Seoul is the best place to be.

I loathed Seoul, actually. Sure, it had a lot to offer for things to do, but it's a typically cold city and being a new Yorker I could just go home an have that. I preferred Daegu. Large, cosmopolitan (by Korean standards) and none of the stares in town on the scale of smaller places. I found Korans more hospitable outside of Seoul and the expat Scene in Seoul was pretty sorry.

Still, thanks for more feedback. I appreciate it and respect your opinions.

Cheers,

Joe
