Christopher Paul Neil outdid this clown by a long shot! And is now unhappily ensconced in a Thai jail. Meanwhile, tightened E2 visa restrictions translate that all ESL teachers coming to Korea (& the 17k already here), must now pay the price for this one idiot. |

What a nasty guy- it's just non-stop venom! I'm not always the most positive guy in the world, but wow... what a sad b*stard. |

THE ENGLISH TEACHER
The following videos show me as an English teacher who has not been paid for 2 months, and has been promised that I will get paid. I was an instructor at Baekseok University. A Christian university located in Cheonan, S.Korea. Here I am at the Seoul Campus plugging away. |
I suppose the OP is going to be a shiny happy person working without pay too. (Anyone surprised a Christian school is ripping off teachers? If you are surprised, you've only been in Korea for 5 minutes.)
Let's look at his blog:

One Christmas I worked at an English day camp for kids. Its was pretty much a laugh through out the entire thing. But this is where I shake my head and go "WOW". The things that people do to save money in the English teaching world is unf***ing believable. They had kids throw toilet paper soaked in dye at targets on a wall.WTF??? You take your kid to an English village for the day in hope that he can learn how to say "How are you?", yet the next thing you know your wall is covered in his shit tickets.Money well spent. |
He's not being paid and he's seeing his schools implementing novel educational techniques like having kids throw wet toilet paper.
And then he reads nice, well balanced articles in Korean papers. Korea sparkling!

Korean woman Kim (34), at a friends birthday party recently, met Australian native speaker instructor A (30) and entered into a relationship with him. But she became disgusted with As obsessions and deformed appearance and soon broke up with him |
I feel for him. He's doing a service. He's showing prospective teachers the cold reality. Schools will sell you a bill of goods. You come with the idea you're going to teach, educate. You find out your school is happy if the kids just throw toilet paper at a wall every day. You hear so much about how Koreans are very kind people, the greatness of Korean hospitality. And then you find out papers are running racist articles about you. And so called Christians are just bigger lying scum bags than the non Christians.
Sorry he doesn't swallow your koolaid. |

Where do you think he got the idea of the AIDS rhetoric? From the stereotypes of Koreans. Stereotypes that are perpetuated by Korean media no less. |

So, instead of quiting after not being paid, he'd rather teach lke an arse... and still ot get paid?
I guess I'm drinking from a different cup of koolaid, because I'd be out of there the moment they refised to pay.
Simple as that. |

Yeah, i didn't see that much wrong with the guy's blog, taking into acount he isn't getting paid and is teaching in a building with no heating in the middle of winter. He could have been a lot harsher actually. As to the aids comments, i think thats just the sign of a guy who has given up, we can only take so much right? |

Well, in his very first posting to his blog he writes
"What am I to do? I am a foreigner,an illegal teacher in the country with no working visa, which ultimately means no legal working rights. If I do finally decide to leave, I surely wont get paid, if I stay and hack it out" |

Mindmetoo: you don't think there's something wrong with mocking students to their faces, and then posting it on the Internet?
I question the moral fiber of a man that would take advantage of a student's lack of ability and ridicule them. It goes against the very concept of what a teacher is. I understand his frustration, but he should have jumped ship, or come over legally. The students have NOTHING to do with this, and that's why he's an idiot. |
