A polo shirt for 100,000 Won? a Samsung notebook for 3,000,000? (same computer goes for 2,300,000 at Technomart). Why would anybody buy something in a d.s. that is overpriced by at least 20%? Especially electronics!

Bought a sweet Columbia jacket at Lotte. Also buy ties at the department stores.. Oh, and go to the bodyshop store located inside the department stores.. I like going because it is fun trying to talk to the store clerks.

Bought one pair of shoes and a couple shirts (but nothing like the one you mentioned). The shoes weren't any more expensive than what I would have found elsewhere, nor were the shirts.

Wifey buys heaps of stuff at the ds., it's usually discounted stuff and around the same price as a trip to Dongdaemun would score ya.

I buy cologne there if I'm between duty-free runs...

Wife also shops at d.s.
We buy ties there, shoes sometimes and the food mart in the basement of Lotte has some good stuff.

I buy stuff at the department stores from time to time. Being in Ulsan the shopping isn't that great so I am limited to where i can get things. I just bought a new pair of shoes at lotte and i bought my lap top at lotte in busan. Originally checked it out in lotte, the guy wouldn't give me a deal. I heard there was a part of the city that had cheap computers. Went there and turned out it had the same prices as lotte. Lotte had offered to throw in better goodies so i went back to lotte to get it. I"m sure if i had been in seoul and had gone to the electronics market there i would have gotten a better deal though.

I found Lotte to be expensive. Lotte Department is, Lotte Mart is reasonable.

Walmart is good. Savezone and Grand Department Store are overpriced.

I certainly would not buy electronics there.

I went to lotte Department store in Changwon. just wait for the sales. i picked up 4 really good pair of cargo pants for 50 000 won. Koreans wait for the sales and I usually pop in too.
The thing I buy at lotte the most however is cinema tickets. i love Lotte Cinema(except the stupid seat numbering system but on sat and Sun I can see its use) as the seats are comfy and the sound is good. matches anything in Australia.

To my way of thinking, department stores is about the image of shopping at this beautiful looking building.

i tried to never shop at one, but supposedly nothing in a department store is fake, so i bought my dr. martins there.

Those department stores and stores in general are what keep me from saving big money in Korea. It really brings out the shopaholic in me. Plus, being 107 pounds means I can fit into the clothes well. AND..buying designer clothes makes up for all the times I was a really broke college student.

The Lotte Outlet at Jamsil has some good clothing for sale. Koreans consider month old fashion outdated.
