As far as I know, your visa doesn't get cancelled, unless you quit your job early. If you're not quitting early, you basically have the amount of time listed on said visa. So if the visa says "admitted until February 28th", you're able to stay until February 28th. |

What if I got let go early (under no fault of my own) and they need to replace the teacher. Will they have to cancel my visa in order to sponsor a new teacher? |

Word on the street is that you have exactly 14 days to leave the country after your visa is cancelled. Your employer will have to cancel your visa before they can bring in a replacement teacher. Since cancelling your visa involves hassles and paperwork, they probably won't get around to it until they are on the point of bringing your replacement in ... so you probably have at least a few extra days. (I can't vouch for this information personally, but I've heard it from reliable folks...)
Good luck! |

Happened to me. Went to Korea to start my second year with my hogwan and they cancelled my visa....I had 14 days to leave. I left after 7, I believe and I had no hassle or questions when I left--just handed in my alien card and went to Japan.
You should be fine. Best wishes. |

Seven Days. That's it. That is the visa date not your ARC. But if you have all your documents together to go to say Osaka and get a new visa they will be cool, it is just a question of knowing who you are etc. |
