|
|
So on TV and in class I've seen people throw down an "A" sign (thumb and index finger down or index and middle fingers down) and go "aye" like the Fonz. I assume it's from a song, and I see some guy does it in the latest Jewelry video. Anybody know exactly what it's from and what it's in reference to?

I can't be 100% sure, but I think it's Hangul low-speech for "I'm a D-nozzle." |

It's the whole A-town rap thing from the States. As usual, when it comes to K-Pop, they're about five years removed from the trend they're copying from America. |

maybe it's actually their sign for ㅅ. like 서을 (seoul). but then that wouldn't explain them saying "aye". |

I've been rocking the 'itsy bitsy spider' gang sign/ finger-dance in all my pics lately. I'm hoping it catches on. It's funner than the lame MTV ones they copy from tv. |

I'd love to see these OG's make a trip to the ATL and see how fast they crap their pants. Whilst listening to "Aquemini".
"ottiespottiedopalicious" is a great song, but it belongs in 1998.
Welcome To Korea, where everybody tries waaaaaay too hard. |

Ever ride in a car with your friends when you stop at a red light and you look and in the next lane is a car full of ghetto thugs staring you down? A couple of them brandishing handguns and making motions like they are gonna kill everyone in the car.
Never happened to me. It's happened to a few friends of mine. They said they were scared shitless.
Thats why I hate the whole "thug" life and mentality. Its all fun and games when you try to talk like that or dress like that. I challenge anyone who glories the "gangsta" image to wear what they wear and speak the way they speak in the middle of Compton. |

Yeah, I see the irony in that. Tookie wrote Children's books. |

I have been surprised and a little bit shocked to see American gangsta rap culture in Korea. I've seen a lot of guys wearing sideways baseball hats, chains and do rags carrying themselves like they're gangsters. And girls dressing like this too. Lots of NY yankees hats. It reminds me of the west coast back in like 94. I think gangsta rap has officially spread all over the entire Earth now. |

Ok, my kids started doing the "A" thing this week, and when I asked a girl to explain, she said that Crown J (a popular Korean rapper/singer) did it on a tv show when he was talking about getting married...? I have no idea what the marriage thing has to do with anything, but the most important thing is that a Korean celebrity did it and now everyone else is, too. |

Crown J is the guy in the picture, and he's the guy in that Jewelry video. Apparently he's getting married to Seo In-yeong, the lead singer who got her nose done and hair cut to resemble a 47-year-old. Apparently Crown J lived in the US for 12 years, and you can find videos of him on Youtube speaking English. He speaks English, as does every other California gyopo, like somebody out of a Dr. Dre video. |
