I'll be leaving for Bundang shortly, and I was wondering: What did you reget not bringing (or even bringing and not using) to Korea? I spent last year in Japan. (The one thing I regretted not bringing to Japan, by the way, for the first three months: porn. Then, I got the Internet. Twisted Evil ) I've been to Korea before, visiting, and I've seen the "black market" store in Itaewon, so I know some things from home (northern NY/southeastern Ontario) are available.

This statement makes no sense. It's like saying you regret not bringing sushi with you to Japan.

I was given a whole shopping bag full of candy--Reese's, Butterfingers, Hershey's bars, etc. I felt like it weighed too much, so I left it at home. Big mistake. It is rare to find a peanut butter cup in Korea.

The first time I came I regretted bringing too many winter clothes and not enough summer clothes. I didn't know HOW hot the summer is here.

Hmm since then the thing I find I always buy LOTS of back home is underware and shoes. The two things I can't buy in Korea.

I am getting used to Korea, and so usually bring what I need. But recently I wish I had brought:
-Vitamin C, a big bottle of chewable or timed-release
-more deodorant, about 1 stick/month
-more clothes

Oi!

You can get deordorant and Vitamin C in country. (Itaewon black market or Namdaemoon market)

Just a little more $$$ but WAY cheaper than buying online and having it shipped over.

I know, but I was desperate and ended up paying W26,000 for deodorant. While it is DAMN fine deodorant, I would rather bring an adequate supply with me.

And I wanted timed release Vitamin C. I'd rather just bring the right things, fresh and with expiration dates yet to come.

You can buy sticks of Old Spice for 3000 won a pop in Nandaemun. They prolly have Secret and all that jazz, too.

26,000 won? Holy sheet! For one stick/can?

for some of us not in seoul and therefore a trip to the black market is a little out of the question.

I wish i brought more deordorant. NOt too mention i'm not to fond of korean underwear. It sucks.
also a lot of guys here have problems with korean condoms being too small. YOu might want to bring a years supply.
I wish I had brought a video tape of the simpsons. I haven't had cable this time around so i've been dying for some decent tv.

Have you ever had a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup? Completely different. That's like me asking for steak and someone saying, "Yeah, I just ran over this raccoon."

Ulsanchris: If you have ADSL you can get bittorrent and download Simpsons episodes until your heart's content. I have seasons 6 and 7 on my computer right now.

You can get every single episode of the Simpsons on BT, I keep up with the season via the internet as well.

I only post this to say that the new season of the Simpsons (# 15) commences on AFN tonight at 7:00 ... now some 14 or so episodes old back home
