Are there any CDI/Chungdahm employees here that can tell me about the drug test/medical that is administered on the first day of training?

Is it the standard immigration/Alien Registration Card test or do I have to do that test separately?

I am not a 'narcotics user' but I do sometimes take medicine with codeine for pain suffered in a car accident a few years back. I also visited Amsterdam recently so, you know...

What exactly are they testing for?

yes, they check for pot. The CDI health check is different than what is needed for standard hagwons.

So you are not a drug user?

But you do take drugs. This is a bit strange. It's like saying; "I don't like Korea but my best friend is Korean".

Marijuana isn't a narcotic.

The E-2 Health Form asks whether or not you take narcotics, I don't.

Is anyone here working with ChungDahm right now? I was wondering if you can tell me what the drug test is like and what they're testing for. I am also using codine for a recent injury, and half my friends smoke pot since it's canada, so i don't know if breathing it in is going to affect me, do they test for this still? Is it a urine, blood, or hair test?

You should probably either discontinue the codeine or ask the school directly.

As for the "contact high," don't worry, it won't stay in your system longer than a day or two.

Guys, it's pretty simple. Look at the ingredients on your medicine. See any opiates or amphetamines? If so, stop taking it for awhile before you take your drug test. Find an alternative. No one on the board is a pharmacist. Ask your recruiter what you will be tested for and then make sure you don't test positive for it to make your life easier.

I can't imagine opiates and amphetamines not being tested for.

Marijuana is not a 'narcotic' in the western medicine sense, but in the corporate world (especially in Korea) they view it as one. They will test for it, as it is the easiest and a long-lasting drug to test for. Get a bottle of UrineLuck if you are that worried about it.
