Anyone know a good program to edit mp3s and get rid of annoying dead space or talking at the beginning? |

Yeah, I've got cool edit and it does the trick... except when I save the file, it won't let me save anything over 1,002 kb... so it only saves the first 20% of the file. |

It has a restriction for the unregistered trial version.
It also won't let you use all the features. Just get a crack/serial etc.
Not sure what the newest version requires nowadays. |

I've got it fixed... now I just wanna learn how to do a batch config on a directory of files because manually changing bitrates so I can fit more files on my mp3 player is taking forever. |

Check out mp3 trim at http://www.logiccell.com/~mp3trim/ for mp3 editing. One problem with Cool Edit is that it might be expanding and then re-encoding your file, resulting in quality loss.
For automated batch downsampling for mp3 players, http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ is excellent.
