Why can't we just find a way for someone from base to bring us tacos without violating SOFA? |
If you have a GI friend or can make one, they can sign you in at the gate and escort you onto the base and take you there. Or they can take it off the base for you. I live outside of a big base in Daegu and have a few contacts that take us there to go to Taco Bell, convenience store, etc... |

Don't go to the new restaurant too early. They might not be ready yet. I ate there today arriving at 11:45 am. They only had chicken tacos and fajitas available. No beef. No quesadillas. No burritos. These meals are 3000-4000 won each. The food was ok but not outstanding. The taco wasn't what I would call Mexican style. It was more like a Greek chicken pita with taco sauce but tasted alright. |

Taco Bell is suck on toast. Game. Set. Match.
It's a wonder people even go there at all (oh wait...they don't). The chain used to be here in Korea but intelligent Koreans saw right through that gastrointestinal weapon of mass destruction and kicked its ass out. Good riddance.
You may now deposit the $4.00 you would have thrown away on shee-itty food at Taco Bell into my Paypal account. |

No, the deal with Taco Bell is that the Korens didn't know what anything was other than "taco." Consequently, it didn't make enough money. Plus, they thought it was messy cause you ate Mexican food with your hands. Probably the meat fell out of their taco and the complained about it or something dumb like that.
I bet if they had Taco Bell now, it would really fly. Koreans are a lot more open to new foods then they were when TB tried to start business here. The younger generation would love it. I've made Mexican food for lots of my students and they all like it. Besides, nowadays the wae-gook community would keep it in business.
Kind of a bad attitude problem, eh Mack? There's nothing wrong with Taco Bell and it's healthier than McDoos or BK.

I'd rather have Taco Bell anyday as opposed to McDonalds. McDonalds makes me ill. Taco Bell brings me fullfilment, joy, and goodwill towards mankind. Plus the soft tacos are tasty.

So he just spoke 100% Korean in Mexico.. based on the logic that most English teachers speak only English in Korea? |

It's funny how people put Taco Bell and Mexican food in the same sentence. Those of us that have lived near the border know the difference. That being said, Taco Bell is okay eats for the price but.... |

I was so relieved to find out, when I moved from Korea to Mexico, that Mexican food had nothing to do with Taco Bell! |

For the record: Anything item you purchase at Taco Bell is about as tasty as one of my bowel movements after a night of drinking mass quantities of CASS.
There is only one TRUE Mexican fast-food joint. It has a name. Its name is TACO CABANA.
Everytime you eat Taco Bell you stab in the heart true lovers of the world's greatest food, TEX-MEX.
Shame on you. |

Taco Bell is to Mexican food what McDonalds is to hamburgers. Meaning, it sucks.
Sometimes I miss the real deal!! A real solid honest-to-goodness hamburger tastes good!! Same with Mexican food!!
Taco Bell is probably the worst of the Mexican fast-food chain restaurants as well - much like McDonalds for burgers. But that being said, I'd rather have the worst taco in the world available among the choices of the worst burgers in the world (referring to life in Korea).
If I were in California however, Del Taco among many others would be the more preferable choice of the Mexican fast-food realm.
That being said, it goes without saying, no fast food compares to the real deal. |

Taco Bell is the shit and I want all of you to stop insulting it now! It's heresy to question the cheesy goodness of a seven layer or even the classic soft taco. Don't get me started on the Gorditas, mmmmmmm.
No one in their right mind, except maybe a New Zealander, would claim that Taco Bell is good Mexican food. It's good, but Mexican it aint.
Late at night I would roll into the T-Bell driving the maxxx DUI express after a night of partying, barely keeping my eyes open to order and lift the bong to my parched lips.
Thinking about biting into the hot burrito somothered in fire sauce (tm) while driving with my knees bring back some of the happiest memories in my life.
The squeel of tires on the wet asphalt, pitching the drink out the window, gettin' high, and making the run from the border is an affirmation of all that is great with the American dream, pure class.
That my children, is fact. Taco bell is the shit and don't ANY of you say otherwise again.
