The newly rescheduled Pride festival is going on this Saturday, but the website is just about entirely in Korean. I'm still going to try my luck - any other gals going?

Here's the event page, if anyone reads Korean. http://www.kqcf.org/

When and where were you thinking of meeting people? Are you part of the Sappho Korea facebook group?

It surprises me that the word queer is used to define the parade. What's wrong with just gay pride, queer means something abnormal generally. At least gay in it's literal sense means happy. Perhaps it's about reclaiming the word though.

Here's a link to the English part of the website; http://www.kqcf.org/2007home/english/inform.html

The usage of the word "queer" is an umbrella term. It includes gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, genderqueers, intersexuals, two-spirited, questioning, pansexual, polyamorous, etc. Pretty much anyone who doesn't identify as heteronormative. A lot of people, myself included, believe that sexuality is fluid and prefer a broader term. It's also about reclaiming the word.

So I read the English link for the website. I hope to go, I love being around people who are expressing themselves honestly...in any way...

But this made me laugh...it says people who DON'T want to be photographed or filmed need to place a special sticker on their face or forehead, thereby signifying their wish to remain anonymous / not advertise their presence at a gay festival.

OK...people walking around with a sticker on their forehead. Great way to keep a low profile. omg Laughing Laughing Rolling Eyes

I guess this is just perfect for a Korean gay parade though. Perfect.

I have to admit I don't understand half the terms used in this post and I'm not sure I want to. Not intended to be judgmental in any way, I just had to chuckle while reading it, to each his own. All the best with your event.
