I don't use this forum as much anymore as I left Korea, but this is really awful news. In the lengthy period during which I used the site he always maintained a very level-headed internet presence, something which is not always easy. RIP.

I heard from The Evil Penguin. I guess the deceased had a pretty nice bike and Seoul's all over the place for driving a motorbike. Somehow the 125cc delivery guys keep going all day but probably they don't have the horsepower to get into trouble, opening it up.

I often wondered why he posted since he isn't an English teacher but I think he just enjoyed the camp flakiness and young at heart shenanigans. His posts were polished and precisely funny, like a comic's column. He cracked me up. It's really shocking that he bought it. Thanks for all the great posts, Guru.

I was trying to find the thread where he was talking about people's user names and rules that should be followed when making one. That one was a classic. I was a little embarrassed because my user name is all lower case which was one of the 'sins'.

Mine is that way, too. Oh, well...

Good Lord. I did expect a posting about well-known and beloved expats taken by H1N1, and I therefore avoided this site for a while thinking how upsetting that would be. Statistically, it's bound to happen, but this. It's so tragic and senseless.

I've been gone for awhile, and to see this upon my happenchance return. I kept wondering why posters wrote RIP in his "Post nothing of interest thread," a favorite thread I almost always visit at login to see updates.

Jongnoguru, you are missed. I've never met you, only occasionally PMed you and back (I don't remember how often over the years), knew you only through pictures of your house you posted once, and such, but aw for the love of all that is good, what an unjust shame. You will be missed in that surreal internet post-modern state of existentialism (something you will enjoy now thinking about), but I hope your wife who survives you can see some of this thread to see how you have affected so many. Go in God's peace knowing you are remembered. You were a good man and a great wit, sagely and with no detractors, quite a feat for this forum, this place of so many. Go now and sleep a while, good man.

Sorry, to bump this thread and bring this all back, but I felt I had to add something, if for no one else than for myself. God speed.

I feel like there have been a few posters that have passed in just the last 3 years. This is exactly why I wish us expats had a better community, as far as really knowing each other, because it would be nice to refer to the deceased by his real name and not his handle. RIP Sad
