Has anyone else who works for SMOE (or EPIK/GEPIK, for that matter) recently been required to fill out and hand in a survey regarding their satisfaction with their job and living situation? If so, did anyone even try to make it at least look like it would be anonymous?

I got handed mine around 2:30 on Christmas Eve and was told to have it back by 3. It was given to me and collected without an envelope by the co-teacher about whom I'd have the the most complaints right now. Of course, I saw then and there that she and perhaps others would read it once I was finished, and I'm here until August, so I lied through my teeth. Oh well, as someone told me when I related this same story, "The truth wouldn't have had an effect anyway."

Then again, maybe it would be worth it to tell SMOE that if they really value (or want to make it seem they value) honest and constructive criticism, they ought to send the surveys directly to their FT's, preferrably electronically, away from the prying eyes of those who could retaliate if they don't like what they see. It's so glaringly obvious that even they would probably have to agree with it.

I haven't gotten this yet. I'm in GEPIK. I'll probably get it soon. Remember: what you write will not be confidential. Once you hand it in, your coteacher will look at what you've written. This is for sure.

Confidential? Korea? Whatever.

I learned this the hard way my first year.

1) The pharmacist in the same building as my school called my boss and told him I bought condoms. I was called into the office and was asked if I was going to have sex with Korean or foreign girls (I kid you not).

2) When the doctor called my boss and got him to pick up my prescription for me.

3) Boss knew how much I had in my bank account. He told me to the last won.

4) Some security guard asked my Korean friend if I was sleeping with this woman I always visited.

They go on and on. Envelope? Piece of paper...lol. Like they wouldn't read those.

I had to go in and fill one of those out. I just gave it decent marks and asked for more co-teacher bonding sessions and an English picture dictionary. They won't read it and give me either. Have a happy new year.

Was told to submit my electronic copy to my handler so she could pass it on... Not staying after August so I was pretty honest about the usefullness of the current elementary school curriculum Wink

...which is why I left most of mine blank.

If they really wanted a real opinion they should've sent them directly to the teachers home adress.

so either they don't want real opinions and the questionairre is just for show....or they genuinely don't realise their questionairres have been intercepted by the KT's.

You could just not fill them out. It's not like they'll fire you if you don't do it.

I filled mine out. I also told them to get a GD'd heater for the teacher's staff room, which is blooming cold. Otherwise, I was honest as hell. Honesty, is the best policy. Seriously.

I'm a little scared about mine. I was in a pretty bad mood when I got it (forget why, maybe had a bad class right before it) and was told I had to turn it in 10 minutes later so I went off a bit.

But I was very nice about the coworkers, obviously the co-teacher I sent it to was gonna read it!
