The wife and I are heading to Australia in a couple days and have plans to go to Cairns. We want to go on a Great Barrier Reef Day trip/tour. Anyone know what the best company/tour to do is? They all seem to be crazy expensive. |

Are you snorkelling, diving or just sight seeing? It depends on what exactly you're doing and that will dictate the price. The cost is high because it's extremely touristy, but also the speed boats take an hour to get to the reef.
If you're looking for less expensive, try going north a bit to a different town like Port Douglas where tours still operate. They may be cheaper, or at least have a smaller group size.
When I went diving there I used Tusa which was great. Good food, great boat, good instructors. |
