The North fired the rounds at 2:34, and JUST NOW there is news of it hitting the internet.

1 hour delay. That's not good.

Most people STILL probably don't know about it now. Imagine if it was a full scale attack. I sure as hell don't want to wait 1 hour from the time guns are fired, til I hear the news.

I dunno, hearing about it one hour later isn't that big of a deal... I certainly wouldn't hearing about it while I'm teaching class. My worried level went from about a 1 to a 2 (on a scale of 10). Maybe I'll pack up a pannier when I get home just incase I need to bike down to Osan tonight...

Ah, geez. This won't be good for the Won. I knew I should have sent home money last month.

In this day in age, I think taking 1 hour to hear about news from an event not even 50 miles away is rather absurd. honestly, if war did start, I think the Korean Government would take their sweet time delaying the announcing for fear of causing a mass panic.

The best indicator of war, in my opinion, would be hearing all the fighter jets being scrambled and called into action over the skies of Seoul. You hear that, you'd best drop everything and go SOUTH.

According to the Nonhap news agency fighter jets are being sent in now.
My coteacher doesn't seem too concerned. We are checking the Korean news sites.

SKY news is reporting that over 200 rounds fell on the island. That's not a provocative volley. That's an attack. Shocked

I don't see how this is of any relevance, your co-teacher works for the Korean military?

This stuff happens all the time with the islands in the West Sea. The NorK's frequently shell these islands, and they frequently claim it was an accident, and the South frequently launches planes or fires their own artillery toward the North... yada yada yada. So what?

Maybe this will deter people from coming to Korea looking for work. Awesome.
